SMS Setup & Management
Everything you need to know about how PeopleSafe delivers safety quizzes via SMS.
How Quiz SMS Works
Monday at 9 AM
Every active worker receives an SMS with a personalized link to their weekly safety quiz. The message includes the training topic and a direct link that logs them in automatically.
Reminder Cadence
Workers who haven't completed their quiz receive automatic reminders on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. After Sunday, the quiz window closes for that week.
Completion & Scoring
Workers tap the link, watch a short video or read the material, then answer 5 quiz questions. A minimum score of 70% is required to pass. Results appear on your dashboard in real time.
What Workers Receive
Your weekly safety quiz is ready: Fall Protection. Complete it here: https://peoplesafe.co/q/abc123 - Reply STOP to opt out
Each SMS includes the training topic name, a secure magic link, and opt-out instructions. Workers do not need to remember a password—the link authenticates them automatically.
Phone Number Requirements
PeopleSafe requires phone numbers in E.164 international format for reliable SMS delivery.
+15551234567(555) 123-4567PeopleSafe automatically formats US phone numbers when you enter them. For international numbers, include the country code (e.g., +44 for UK).
Managing Opt-Outs
Workers can reply STOP to any PeopleSafe message to immediately unsubscribe. This is required by law (TCPA) and handled automatically.
Once a worker opts out, PeopleSafe will not send them any SMS until they reply START. You cannot override this from the dashboard—it's a legal requirement.
Workers who want to start receiving messages again simply reply START to the same number. Their preference is updated immediately.

Worker says they didn't receive the SMS
- Verify the phone number format in Dashboard → Workers → Edit Worker. It should start with +1 for US numbers.
- Check if the worker has opted out. Look for the "SMS Opted Out" badge on their profile.
- Verify the worker's status is "Active" (not terminated or on leave).
- Confirm the number is a mobile phone, not a landline. Landlines cannot receive SMS.
Worker's phone number changed
Go to Dashboard → Workers → find the worker → Edit. Update their phone number. The new number will be used for the next SMS. The worker may need to re-register if their account is linked to the old number.
